MegaTokyo: ... Too close for comfort

Ok I just started reading this and my god is it too close for comfort.

Lessee... 2 guys college/graduate age in year 2000 (Check! Snap)

Obsessed with anime (Excel Saga/Nadesico jokes back then! Check!)

Obsessed with games (marvel vs capcom 2 was one of our dc faves along with all the N64 1st person shooters! Check!)

Boy do I feel like a geek! It also made me feel nostalgic for a time before I used to give injections and all there was to worry about was if there was enough to get drunk that week and how many lectures we could skip to play Cool Boarders 2 and Tekken on the PS1. Ah memories. Hang on that wasn't the story...

www.megatokyo.com (Check it out! I'm going from the top)

Oh yeah I also did lots of travelling in the US and Canada and the UK and Eire but no Tokyo... I wanna go back! University I miss you. hang on I'm a student now. Oh come on that doesn't count!! GRRRRRRR!

Harry Potter and I am nearly half way through my week off!

Well I read it and went to the gym and am contemplating the 'Jolly Boy's Outing' to Scarborough on saturday. It'll be a laugh but I'm on shandy... Oh isn't that just great. Well I might post something about Anime or Music at some point but no idea what to talk about.

I must say though... it is sort of sad that book when you find out who dies. But it's also sad howmuch more money Joanne Rowling has and how little all of us have. GRRRRRRRR!!!

Just write something for gawds sake!!

Alright it's my week off. Woo hoo! I've been out all weekend and am now broke. Well, not quite but I think my glasses are on their last legs and I broke the last pair while walking back from the pub aaaaagggeeeees ago. Don't ask.

Yeah so I have a really bad hangover and spent last night sharing a travelodge bed with my boss and 2 other guys. DON'T ASK! WE ARE NOT TALKING GUY-GUY STUFF PEOPLE!!!

I just wanted to make that clear. Yeah and I got a bit too drunk (we were out for hours) and was actually refused service at the last place cos I was erm looking a bit bleary eyed/wasted.

BINGE DRINKING IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THE UK.

Ah well if you aren't part of the problem you're part of the solution... so where does that leave me... Dunno. I think I need to pack it in with the elipses and exclamation marks because I go too far. And the using all upper case. And the starting sentences with connectives. And the split infinitives.

Yeah well no part time cr*p this week. None at all but sadly I have gas like you wouldn't believe... Don't ask which end. Oh that's just sick lol.

Harry Potter and the Need For Saturday Overtime

It occurs to me that I cannot attend a midnight store opening (in Durham where some of the scenes were filmed) becaus I am at friggin work for 4 hours on Saturday morning. How rude.

(I wonder if Daniel Radcliffe gets served in pubs yet?)

Howl's Moving Castle (I have seen it!)

Yes I have finally seen the new Studio Ghibli film by Hayao Miyazaki. A friend lent it to me on an Asian dvd that may or may not be some elaborate bootleg... I don't know! Please, don't ask! I have supported the UK anime scene for years. I'm sure it will  crash again soon, unless they bring down dvd prices. Which they won't.

Still awake!

(Yes... he's bored.)

This is one for the record books because I just finished my placement I DON'T HAVE TO GET UP TOMORROW.

And it's also a Sunday and I'm awake at 10:30. I'm usually in the land of nod at this point.

However onto a more serious issue: my 'Kiddy Grade' dvd skipped!!!( GrrrrrrrrI got it months ago but didn't finish watching... stupid placement. stupid essays.)

Yes I'm 26 and apparently watch waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much anime. Of course, being Englush it's difficult cos we have no Adult Swim... but I get by. Yes I pay 20 bloody quid for a single dvd every time. Hem hem. Bittorrent? Never heard of it! And those dodgy dvds were said to be legit by the man who they took off ebay (n.b. I didn't know there was so much piracy going on! No bugger watches anime in the uk anyway!)...... Oh god the nmc dvd swat team is outside. And the chief nursing officer is demanding I hand over my dvd collection for inspection.

But then again I DO NOT agree with this 'if you want to watch anime you have to bloody well buy it' attitude that's going round. I think it's time things changed.... it's a lot easier to turn the sci fi channel or Cartoon Network on than to go looking for dodgy stuff

Gorillaz

Hurray! There actually are a couple of people reading this crap. Erm... I guess I don't say much about myself or express much emotion like in a lot of blogs I have read so far. Oh well! I just like talking about stuff I'm into more than myself! I'm not that interesting... although I did get drunk last night and go for a curry (no nice women out! Yes I need to think of an excuse to chase that 3rd year on XXXX Ward at XXXXX hospital)

Gorillaz album: yes I have it and...hmmm.... It's pretty good but I tend to find myself heading more towards the singles Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood. Like the Shaun Ryder guest appearance very much so!!! Well I'm a huge Blur fan and have all of the records (always preferred them to Oasis back in the day) and I used to read some of Jamie Hewlett's old comics like tank girl and Hewligans Haircut. Heh they were cool. I even liked the Tank Girl movie... Ah Memories!

Placement over!!!

My community placement is now over and it's summer... although I still have to work part time. Well I suppose if I didn't I'd go crazy. Well this blog thingy is going ok but NOONE BLOODY WELL READS IT!!!

Well if they do they don't leave comments. Please tell me who you are... Nursing Times people C'MON!

NB. I doubt they read it.

I am enjoying watching Gundam Seed Destiny fansubs. Ep 38 out in a couple of days and I have heard it has a new theme tune... seems like yesterday that I heard the last one. Oh wait it was 3 months. Well I hope all works out for Shinn Asuka and he stops freaking out in his Gundam. Chill out kid!

Here's to Kira and Athrun being friends again. (They're a bit Frodo sexual in the first series if you no what I mean. 'Ohhhh Mr Frodo Sir!!!!')

READ MY BLOG! I AM INTERESTING! (I am... right?! RIGHT?!!....)
